Farmers in the Dell

There was a short article about Farmers’ Markets in the newspaper this morning.  These markets seem to be cropping up (pardon the pun) all over the place these days, offering fresh organic vegetables and an assortment of other assorted “goodies”.  What caught my attention was the reporter’s suggestion to take children to the market so that they might actually get to meet a real farmer!  What a great idea!  Still not the same as being “down on the farm”, but a lot more fun than seeing vegetables in the grocery store. – plus, an opportunity to meet someone who actually grows them.   What a nice destination for a family outing this weekend.
